What we collect
- Account: your email, name and a salted hash of your password. We never store the password itself.
- Connected editors: a device name and when it was last used, so you can see and disconnect them from your account page.
- Usage: for included models, the model, token counts, cost and time of each request. We do not store the text of your prompts or the code you send.
- Security logs: IP address and time of sign ins, kept to stop abuse.
- Website visits: which pages are viewed, the site that sent you, your country (from Cloudflare) and device type. See Website analytics.
Your code
When you use an AI feature, Quill sends the parts of your code that the request needs to the model provider you picked. With your own keys the request goes from your editor straight to that provider. With included models it passes through our gateway, which counts usage and forwards it without storing it. With local models nothing leaves your machine.
How we use it
To run your account, sign you in, bill your plan, show your usage, and keep the service secure. We do not sell your data and we do not use your code to train models.
Website analytics and cookies
We count visits to quillide.com ourselves so we know which pages help people and how many download Quill. A first-party cookie named qv holds a random number, so we can tell a new visitor from a returning one. It lasts 13 months. We do not store your IP address with these counts, and they never leave our servers. Visit records are deleted after 400 days.
With your permission we also use Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies and sends Google your visit details, including your IP address. It only starts after you click Allow on the cookie notice. You can change your answer any time with Cookie choice in the footer.
Other cookies on the site are needed for it to work: your sign-in session and a security token for forms.
Sharing
We share data only with the services needed to run Quill: the AI provider you choose, our payment processor, our hosting provider, and Google Analytics if you allow it. We will disclose data if the law requires it.
Retention
Account data is kept while your account is open. Usage records are kept for billing. Delete your account and we remove your personal data, except what we must keep by law.
